Why Grand Marquis Is a Great Venue for Family Celebrations in NJ

Some occasions are too important to leave to chance. A milestone birthday, a christening, an anniversary that took decades to reach. These events carry real weight, and the venue you choose shapes how everyone in the room experiences them. At the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, NJ, we’ve spent over 30 years helping families mark the moments that matter most.

What Makes Grand Marquis the Right Fit for Family Gatherings

Family celebrations come in every size and shape. You might be planning an intimate gathering of 100 or a multigenerational event that fills an 800-seat ballroom. Either way, the space needs to feel right for the people in it, and the team running it needs to know what they’re doing. That’s where we put our energy every single day.

We’re family-owned and operated, which means we understand something about the investment a family makes when they host an important event. Every celebration we take on gets the same attention to detail we’d want for our own.

Two Ballrooms That Fit Your Crowd

The Marquis Ballroom accommodates up to 800 guests and features a spacious marble dance floor surrounded by Roman Corinthian marble columns. Crystal chandeliers hang overhead, and the columns themselves can change color to suit your event’s mood. It’s a room built for celebration on a grand scale, and it still feels warm when you’re in it.

For smaller gatherings, the Dome Room is one of the more distinctive spaces in New Jersey. The jaw-dropping dome ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and circular dance floor make it feel like its own world. Step outside through the adjoining private patio, and your guests get a moment to breathe between courses or toasts. The Dome Room accommodates up to 250 guests.

Food That People Actually Talk About

Our award-winning chefs and pastry chefs handle the full culinary experience in-house. Cocktail hour arrives with a butler passing hors d’oeuvres alongside cold and hot food stations. From there, your guests sit down to a first course, and a four-choice entree served tableside, with multiple dessert options and a wedding cake rounding out the evening.

For families with cultural traditions or dietary requirements, we also welcome outside caterers for events where that flexibility matters. We maintain a list of recommended caterers and work closely with licensed, insured vendors to make sure the food side of the evening reflects your family’s needs.

Events We Know Well

We host a wide range of family celebrations here, and a few deserve a specific mention. Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are events our team takes seriously. Our staff understands the cultural and religious significance of the occasion, and our chefs can provide kosher-style catering options. Sweet Sixteen parties and Quinceañeras are events we’ve built a real reputation for. Our experienced planners work directly with families to design themed events that reflect the honoree’s style rather than a generic template. Anniversary parties, christenings, milestone birthdays, and larger family reunions all find a home here as well.

What a Tour Can Tell You

Reading about a venue and walking through it are two different things. The Grand Marquis grounds include waterfalls, decorative marble flooring, a glass atrium, and manicured landscaping that give the property a feeling you won’t get from photos alone. We invite you to schedule a personal tour so you can see the spaces and talk through your specific event with one of our coordinators.

We’re open seven days a week from 10 am to 7 pm. Contact us at 732.679.5700 or reach out through the Contact Us page on our website to set up a visit.
