When you step into the Dome Room at Grand Marquis, the first thing you notice isn’t the marble columns or the circular dance floor. It’s the light. Those floor-to-ceiling windows behind the backdrop pull the outside world in, and suddenly your ceremony or reception feels bigger, brighter, and more alive than you imagined.
We’ve been hosting celebrations for over 30 years here in Old Bridge, and couples still stop mid-tour when they walk into this room. The windows are that striking.
Why the Dome Room’s Floor-to-Ceiling Windows Change Everything
The windows aren’t just architectural details. They solve real problems couples face when choosing a ballroom. You get natural light for photography, a visual connection to our grounds, and a backdrop that doesn’t require heavy draping or construction. The room breathes. Your event feels less staged and more natural because of it.
Natural Light That Works With Your Vision, Not Against It
You won’t need to fight poor lighting or rely entirely on artificial sources. The floor to ceiling windows behind your backdrop let daylight pour in during afternoon ceremonies and golden hour receptions. If you’re getting married in the evening, those same windows reflect the ambient glow from our crystal chandeliers and color-changing columns, creating depth without feeling heavy.
The windows don’t just illuminate the space. They frame it. Your photographer will have natural backlight for portraits, and your guests can glance out at the manicured grounds between toasts.
The Architecture Around Those Windows
The jaw-dropping dome ceiling anchors the room, but the windows keep it from feeling enclosed. You get the drama of the dome and the openness of the view at the same time.
Roman Corinthian marble columns line the perimeter, and the marble oval dance floor sits in the center. When you add 250 guests, butler passes hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour, and the color-changing lighting we can dial in for your palette, the Dome Room becomes exactly what you want it to be. Intimate for 100. Grand for 250. Always elegant.
Step Outside Without Leaving Your Event
The adjoining outdoor private patio connects directly to the Dome Room. Your guests can step out for air, a quieter conversation, or a photo op on the grounds without missing a moment. You’re not shuffling people through hallways or asking them to leave the building. The patio is right there.
During cocktail hour, this flow matters. Guests mingle inside near the windows, step onto the patio, and drift back in without bottlenecks. It’s one of those details that doesn’t announce itself but makes the whole event feel smoother.
What’s Included When You Book the Dome Room
Your celebration here includes a full cocktail hour with cold and hot food stations, a premium open bar for the entire event, a first course, and a four-choice entrée served tableside. We also provide multiple dessert options, your wedding cake, stemware, silverware, linens, tables, chairs, and valet parking.
Our staff handles coordination, so you’re not managing vendors on your wedding day. If you’re planning a cultural celebration and want to bring in an outside caterer, we accommodate that, too. We’ve worked with Moghul Catering, Catering by Rasoi, and Chand Palace, though you’re welcome to bring your preferred licensed and insured option.
For Saturday evening events, we ask for a minimum of 150 guests. Friday and Sunday evenings require 100. Other days offer more flexibility depending on the month.
Why This Room Works for Different Event Types
We host weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, sweet sixteens, quinceañeras, anniversaries, and corporate gatherings in the Dome Room. The space adapts. A bat mitzvah with kosher-style catering looks different from a corporate awards dinner, but the windows, the dome ceiling, and the marble details work for both.
The room has been part of nearly every celebration we’ve hosted over three decades. It’s not trendy. It’s not trying to be. It’s a solid, beautiful space that lets your event be the thing people remember.
See It for Yourself
The Dome Room photographs well, but you should walk through it. Notice how the afternoon sun moves across the marble floor. Stand near the windows and look back at the dome. Picture your guests on that circular dance floor with the chandeliers overhead and the view behind them.
We’re open Monday through Sunday, 10 am to 7 pm, and we’d love to show you around.
