How to Plan a Beautiful Ballroom Wedding at Grand Marquis

There’s something that happens the moment you walk into a Grand Marquis ballroom. The Roman Corinthian marble columns, the crystal chandeliers overhead, and the marble dance floor, catching the light. It’s a lot to take in, and that’s before you’ve even started planning. If you’re thinking about a ballroom wedding at our Old Bridge venue, here’s what we’d want you to know from the beginning.

Choosing the Right Ballroom for Your Guest Count

The first real decision for any couple is which of our two ballrooms fits their vision. They’re different spaces with different energies, and matching your guest count to the right room changes everything about how the evening flows.

The Dome Room: Intimate Luxury for Up to 250 Guests

The Dome Room is one of those spaces that photographs differently from every angle. The jaw-dropping dome ceiling draws the eye up, while floor-to-ceiling windows behind your backdrop bring the outside in. During the reception, guests can step through to the adjoining outdoor private patio for a moment of air without losing the feel of the evening. At 250 guests, this room rewards couples who want a more contained, elegant atmosphere where every seat feels close to the dance floor.

The circular dance floor sits at the center of the room, which means your first dance is visible from nearly every table. That’s not something you can engineer with a rectangular layout.

The Marquis Ballroom: Grand European Scale for Up to 800 Guests

If your guest list runs large, the Marquis Ballroom is built for it. With a maximum of 800 guests and a spacious marble dance floor, this room carries a Grand European style that still feels deliberate rather than overwhelming. The same towering Corinthian columns and color-changing crystal chandeliers appear here, giving both rooms a connected sense of occasion even as they serve very different event sizes.

The plentiful seating during cocktail hour means your guests aren’t standing and searching for a place to sit. That matters more than people expect when the room is full.

What’s Included With Your Booking

At Grand Marquis, the dining experience is part of the package, not an afterthought. Your wedding includes a full cocktail hour with butler-passed hors d’oeuvres, cold and hot food stations, a premium open bar for the entire event, a first course, and a four-choice entree served tableside. Multiple dessert options and your wedding cake are also part of the celebration. Our award-winning culinary team and pastry chefs handle the full range.

Ballroom Wedding

For couples hosting cultural celebrations, we welcome outside licensed and insured caterers and can provide a list of recommended options, including Moghul Catering, Catering by Rasoi, and Chand Palace.

Planning Around Guest Minimums

Saturday evening receptions have a minimum of 150 guests. Friday and Sunday evenings require a minimum of 100 guests. For other days, our team works with you individually based on the month and your specific situation. If your guest count is still in flux, bring that conversation to your tour. We’d rather work through it early than have it become a stressor later.

Plan Your Visit

The best way to make this decision is to see both rooms in person. Contact us at 732.679.5700 or reach out through our contact form to schedule a private tour with an event coordinator. We’re available Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
